The BMSPA sponsors a number of events across both campuses to welcome new families, celebrate our fabulous teachers, shine the light on talent in our community, educate parents and staff, and have a good time. It is our goal and our hope to create, promote, and support community between families, between campuses, and between parents, teachers, and administrators.
Honoring Our Teachers Auction
Saturday, April 26, 2008, The Rotuda Building, Oakland
Get ready for the first big auction event at BMS! The funds raised at the auction are specifically flagged for professional development opportunities and other items intended to enhance our teachers' experience. The evening promises to be fun and entertaining, featuring a fully catered meal, live music, and great company, along with the auction.

Parent Education Events
The BMSPA sponsors and supports a number of events throughout the year designed to support parents in their role as child-rearing experts and key partners in child education. Please visit the Parent Education section to learn more about the events currently on our calendar.
Upcoming Events
Here is a list of events traditionally sponsored by the BMS Parents Association. Please check back often to find out more as these events are scheduled, and let us know if you're interested in volunteering for any of these events by registering at www.bmsonline.ptomanager.com.
- Pizza and Poetry Event -- Free pizza, drinks, and dessert are followed by a poetry reading by any and all who are inspired. Students, teachers, parents, and staff my read a favorite poem.
- Bike to School Event -- Held each spring in conjunction with the city, students, teachers, and staff are encouraged to ride their bikes to school.
- Parent Education Events -- Throughout the year, the BMSPA sponsors several parent education events on topics of general parenting interest, as well as more specific presentations about the Montessori philosophy.
- Staff Appreciation Lunch -- The BMSPA organizes parent-provided potluck lunches at both campuses for the teachers and staff -- to show our appreciation for all of their hard work throughout the year.
- Alumni Night Panel -- BMS graduates return for an always-interesting panel discussion. Moderated by a Middle School teacher, with plenty of time for parents and current students to ask questions, this event is a great opportunity to learn about local high schools from BMS graduates.
- ECC Family Day -- Each year, ECC children delight in serving their families brunch. Each child has the opportunity to serve their parents, loved ones, and friends from a tray of delicious brunch items contributed by the families.
